Seeds received at PIO 01/19/1956: "Fruits small, globose, resemble wild lemons." T. Froelich: "Seed was sent to us from H. Mauwing Kharzati, Dist. Agr. Officer, Mission Compound, Shillong, Assam, India. Seeds were planted 1/27/56." Seedling trees received in Riverside from T. Froelich, 06/1957 (from UCLA Variety Collection R2-T10?). Identity somewhat questionable: does not fit published descriptions of any Pleiospermium sp. (The Citrus Industry, vol. 1, 1967, pp. 290-294), but identify as P. alatum confirmed by W.P. Bitters, 11/1999.
