2PI 296204'Camponica'Corylus avellana L. ItalyCORSTEM1981DEVELOPEDCultivarThis cultivar resulted from a cross between C. avellana and C. maxima. Originally there were two different cultivars introduced under this name. The medium sized nut is striped, round, with Barcelona shape, and contains a cavity of medium size. It has the flavor of Barcelona. The nuts are used for direct consumption as well as for the industrial manufacturing of sweets with base of chocolate and hazelnuts. The cultivar is widely spread in area of promiscuous culture because it adapts to a more vast range of climatic surroundings and prospers well even in soil tending toward clay, but not excessively compact. It has good producing characteristics. The nuts are borne on the plant scattered and singly and up to 30 kilogram of dry nuts per plant are produced when they mature in the second half of August.1224230PI 296204
