Pers. var. dactylon | Oklahoma, United States | S9 | | | 2001 | DEVELOPED | | | | | | Cultivar | Seed propagated, highly freeze tolerant relative to other bermudagrasses, and has good turf quality. Adapated throughout the U.S. where bermudagrass is grown, but is best adapted to the northern half of the zone of bermudagrass use and is expected to perform best relative to other turf bermudagrass cvs. in this region. Produces a dense, dark green, relatively fine-textured sod. Good resistance to spring dead spot disease (Ophiosphaerella herpotricha). Seedling and mature plants grow more slowly than many seed-propagated bermudagrass cvs. such as NuMex Sahara and other cvs. emanating from bermudagrass naturalized to the southwestern U.S. | 1619261 | PI 619408 |

Pers. | Idaho, United States | S9 | | | 2001 | DEVELOPED | | | | | | Cultivar | Attractive, uniform, moderately low growing, seed-propagated variety that has a medium-dark green color, medium-fine texture, and high density. In turf trials, demonstrated improved frost tolerance, drought tolerance to dormancy, and color recovery after dormancy. Improvemnts over Arizona common in turf quality, color, leaf texture, spring, summer, and winter density. Reproductive fertility in seed production is good. Average seedhead contains 4 to 5 racemes but is smaller in size than Jackpot's. Seedheads have purplish cast at maturity. Heading rate estimated at 50% on April 12 and over 90% on April 18, 1995, near Dome Valley, AZ. | 1613191 | PI 618587 |

Performed well after four traffic events imposed in a Georgia study, maintaining density and living ground cover comparable to the best entry. Improved turf quality, color, spring greenup, leaf texture, density, and winter hardiness over Arizona common. Under seed field conditions, good floret fertility and seed fill. Initial flowering typically begins around April 10 in the Yuma, AZ area with the bulk of the first flush of seedheads around April 20, which is about 50 days after field start up in early March. Reproductive maturity (harvest) is later than Arizona common. | 1552451 | PI 601996 |

Pers. var. dactylon | Georgia, United States | S9 | | | 1997 | DEVELOPED | | | | | | Cultivar | Vegetatively propagated and selected for ability to produce high quality turf under close mowing (4 mm or less), lack of seed-head formation at Tifton, GA and Auburn, AL and lower levels of tawny mole cricket (Scapteriscus vicinus) infestation compared with Tifdwarf after year of establishment at Tifton and Savannah, GA. Superior or equal to performance of Tifdwarf in four experiments mowed at 6 mm at Tifton, GA from 1991 to 1996. Superior in turf quality to Tifdwarf on greens mowed at 3 or 4 mm on one golf course in North Carolina in 1993, three golf courses in Georgia and Florida since 1994, one golf course in Florida since 1995, one golf course in Tennessee since 1996 and research plots in Florida and Alabama since 1993 and 1996, respectively. Stimp meter values have been higher than Tifdwarf when mowed at 3 mm. Poa trivalis can be successfully overseeded into Tifeagle. Produces more thatch than Tifdwarf which needs to be controlled by regular verticutting, top-dressing and/or grooming. Produces more stolons and has shorter and narrower leaves than Tifdwarf while internode length is similar for the two hybrids. | 1545694 | PI 606545 |

| 157 | PI 675350 | 'FL PE' | Lolium multiflorum Lam. | Florida, United States | W6 | | | 2015 | DEVELOPED | | | | | | Cultivar | `FL PE?diploid annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) is a synthetic cultivar selected for later maturity, excellent cold tolerance and resistance to crown rust (Puccinia coronate) and gray leaf spot (Pyricularia grisea). It offers sufficient cold tolerance to be grown in the northern part of the annual ryegrass region of the U.S. It also has sufficient disease resistance to be grown in the southern annual ryegrass belt. FL PE was produced from cold tolerant germplasm jointly produced in: Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Gainesville, Florida and Marianna, Florida. The beginning seed sources for this selection program were composited in 2003 from FL/NEX2003 (new3) LRCT, FLX2003 (new3), NE/FL 2003(new4) LRCT, NE/FLX2002 (new2) LRCT, and M/FL 2003(new4) LRCT. Eight cycles of recurrent mass selection for crown rust resistance, gray leaf spot resistance, and mid-late seed maturity were completed at Gainesville, FL. FL PE showed high DM yields at Gainesville, FL, and was among the higher yielding lines at Tifton and Calhoun, GA (total of 14 location years data reported). Maturity ratings at Gainesville show that FL PE was among the later maturing lines evaluated. Late maturity can be beneficial in years with limited early summer perennial grass production, however late maturity can also delay early summer production of these grasses, like bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.]. FL PE had excellent levels of resistance to crown rust disease at Gainesville, FL. | 1927419 | PI 675350 |

| 163 | PI 645601 | 'Welder Germplasm' | Chloris subdolichostachya Müll. Berol. | Texas, United States | S9 | | | 2007 | DEVELOPED | 09/2006 | | | | | Cultivar | Welder Germplasm is recommended for roadside plantings, critical site revegetation and in range seedling mixes. It can be used in many types of conservation plantings, such as grassed waterways, streamside buffers, and pond embankments. It will provide a new native species for rangeland planting, erosion control, wildlife habitat, and water quality improvement. It has quick germination, typically within the first 3 days, while still retaining some dormant seed to deal with unpredictable weather conditions. Average annual seed yields at Kingsville have been 245 pounds per acre. Unlike hooded windmillgrass, shortspike produces seed only one time a year in late September or early October. Its growth habit and strongly stoloniferous nature make it particularly suitable for competing with non-native species such as King Ranch bluestem (Bothriochloa ischaemum) and bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon). It is well adapted for use in the southern portions of Texas, coinciding with MLRA 83 (Rio Grande Plain) and MLRA 150 (Gulf Coast Prairies). | 1719307 | PI 645601 |
