Medium to large round-oval fruit, flattened at the ends. Slightly, but regularly ribbed. Golden yellow with rich crimson cheek sometimes nearly covered with red. Juicy, creamy yellow flesh - fine flavor. Long slender stalk. Open deep cavity. Closed calyx. Good for fresh eating; excellent for jelly. Poor storage ability. Beautiful, heavy bearing, medium size tree. Ripens late August to September. Considered one of the best economic crab apples but often severely infested with fire blight. Hardy. 600 hrs. chilling.1021943PI 589907
