Plants with long rhizomes; Leaves 1-4mm wide; Spikes 2-20, upper and lower spikes superficially the same, lowest spike sessile and separated from next lowest spike, spikes uniformly medium color; Perigynium margins serrulate and winged, perigynium faves nerved, ribbed, or striate dorsally. Perigynium length 3.0-5.5mm.
