Species is extremely vigorous and can aggressively spread via rhizomes especially under moist, wet soil conditions. Plants averaging 50-60 cm in height with minimal to no branching. Foliage and stems are densely covered in hairs. Flowers are faint pinkish-white in color with pink-light purple spots/splotches. Peak flowering generally occurs in mid-June (central Iowa) and can extend for almost four weeks. Genetics of this accession originated from eastern-central Iowa. Species is frequently visited by a plethora of pollinators, especially bumblebees. 2138298Ames 35901
