Comment:
the basionym, Cyathea dryopteroides Maxon, is the replaced synonym of A. amintae (Maxon) D. S. Conant (1981), who believed that Alsophila dryopteroides (Maxon) R. M. Tryon (1970) was sufficiently alike to be confused with A. dryopteridoides Domin (1929) and should be considered a homonym (Madrid ICN Art. 53.2); while this seems to be a reasonable conclusion, some recent usage of Tryon's name suggests that a binding decision under Madrid ICN Art. 53.4 may be necessary to settle the issue
