Comment: Van Houtte published this in 1863 as Bambusa fortunei foliis niveo-vittatis with the comment "Sous ce nom tout provisoire nous désignons un charmant petit Bambou" clearly indicating that this name was provisional [Shenzhen ICN Art. 36.1(a)], however, in the previous year this same phrase appeared in his 1862 Catalogue with no such indication of provisional status
