Comment: in the protologue Ducke mentions only the common names of this species in Pará, Brazil ("pau-rosa") and French Guiana ("bois de rose femille"), and the use of this species for the essential oil "Bois de rose", and makes no reference to the genus Rosa, so there is no evidence that he was forming his epithet from "two or more Greek or Latin words" and that a correction to "rosiodora" or "rosodora" is justified under Shenzhen ICN Art. 60.10
